Norma J. (Dendinger) Chinn, 89, of Emerson, NE passed away on Sunday, May 12, 2019 at Heritage of Emerson in Emerson, NE. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, May 15, 2019 at 10:30 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Emerson; Father Gerald Leise will be the celebrant. The visitation will be Tuesday, May 14, 2019 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. with a wake service at 7:00 p.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Burial at Greenwood Cemetery in Wayne, NE will follow a luncheon at the church gym. Memorials are suggested to the family for future designation.  Arrangements are under the direction of Munderloh – Smith Funeral Home in Emerson.

Norma was born on February 23, 1930 in Hartington, NE to Anthony and Lillian (Dreesen) Dendinger. Norma married Richard Chinn on October 5, 1957 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Laurel, NE. To this union three sons were born. Norma worked in several occupations while raising their three children. They lived in Wayne and Gregory, SD before the couple purchased and operated Ponca True Value Hardware in Ponca, NE. After the closure of their business, the couple moved to David City, NE where Norma worked for David City Manufacturing until her retirement. In 1999 the couple moved and made their home in Emerson to be closer to family and friends. Even after semi-retirement, Norma remained active working part-time for several retail demo companies and volunteering at the Emerson Senior Center.

Norma is survived by her sons, Charles (Marcie) Chinn of Emerson, NE, Larry (Vicki) Chinn of David City, NE, Marlen (Jan) Chinn of Wayne, NE; grandchildren, Justin Chinn, Jennifer Chinn, Lacey Von Seggern, Halie Chinn, Alyssa Chinn, Nathan Coufal, Jesse Coufal, April Robinson, Jesse Mick; great-grandchildren, Gage Chinn, Kailey Chinn, Jaydence Van Lanningham, Travon Van Lanningham, Caleb Robinson, Jorge Hermosillo, Alejandra Hermosillo, Devin Eisenhaur, Xzavier Coufal, Madline Coufal, Camille Coufal, Gabe Von Seggern, Hannah Von Seggern, Emmalynn Von Seggern.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Richard Chinn in 2008; sister, Leonarda Rasmussen; infant great-granddaughter, Taylor Lynn Brader.
