Funeral Services for Marcella Wacker, age 95, of Winside, will be held at Our Savior Lutheran Church in Wayne on Saturday at 10:30 a.m. Visitation will be at Our Savior Lutheran Church in Wayne on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until Service Time. Interment will be at Greenwood Cemetery in Wayne. She passed away on Monday at Bel Air in Norfolk. Memorials may be directed to the Wacker family for later designation. Arrangements are with Hasemann Funeral Home of Wayne.
Marcella Margaret Marie Wacker was born September 21, 1923, on the family home in Wayne County to August and Minnie (Test) Brudigam. She attended rural school in Wayne County. Marcella married Howard Wacker November 21, 1948, at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Wayne. The couple farmed south of Wayne until Howard’s death in February 1968, and Marcella moved into Winside in 1971. She was employed at the Winside Grocery Store for 17 years. Marcella was a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church. She enjoyed sewing and playing cards.
Marcella is survived by her children, Keith (Kathy) Wacker of Lincoln, June (Steve) Thayer of Pierce, Jean (Craig) Unkel of Battle Creek; four grandsons; three step-grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and step-great-grandchildren.
Marcella was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Howard; and one brother.
