Funeral Services for Les Allemann, age 93, of Wayne, formerly of Winside, will be held at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Winside on Thursday at 10:30 a.m.  Visitation will be at Hasemann Funeral Home in Wayne on Wednesday from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. with family present.  Interment will be at Greenwood Cemetery in Wayne.  He passed away on Monday at Providence Medical Center in Wayne.  Memorials may be directed to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Winside.  Arrangements are with Hasemann Funeral Home of Wayne.

Leslie Herman Allemann was born November 23, 1925, on a farm near Winside to August and Erna (Vahlkamp) Allemann.  Les was confirmed in Theophilus Evangelical Church in Winside.  He attended School District #40 and graduated from Wayne High School in 1943.  He began farming the home place in 1944, following the death of his father. Les married Arlene Asmus June 1, 1947, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Winside.  The couple farmed northeast of Winside.  Les married Maxine Preston November 18, 2010. Les lived on the home farm where he was born until 2010 when he moved to Brookdale Senior Living and to Careage Campus of Care in August of 2018.  He was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Winside where he served as an Elder, Sunday School Teacher, and on the Board of Education.  Les enjoyed volunteering for the Orphan Grain Train.

Les is survived by his wife, Maxine (Preston) Allemann; children, Linda Scott of Farmington, NM, Donna (Dale) Black of Grand Island, Jerry (Lynne) Allemann of Wayne, and  Brian (Gwen) Allemann of Emerson; daughter-in-law, Deb Allemann (Dennis) Dannelly of Wayne; 12 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and 5 great-great-grandchildren; step-children, Jean (Frank) McMahon of  Arizona, Kenneth (Judy) Preston of  Arizona, Larry (Denise) Preston of  Colorado, and Rod (Deb) Preston of Colorado; nieces and nephews.

Les was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Arlene in 2009; son, Rodger in 1987; one grandson; sister, Wilma Martin; and son-in-law, Richard Scott.
