Funeral Services for Keith Erickson, age 90, of Wayne, will be held at Concordia Lutheran Church in Concord on Monday, January 7th at 10:30 a.m.  Visitation will be at Hasemann Funeral Home in Wayne on Sunday, January 6th from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. with family present.  Interment with Military Rites will be at Concord Cemetery in Concord.  He passed away on Sunday at Careage Campus of Care in Wayne.  Memorials may be directed to the Concordia Lutheran Church of Concord and the American Cancer Society.  Arrangements are with Hasemann Funeral Home of Wayne.

Keith L. Erickson was born August 8th, 1928 to Raymond and Ethel (Anderson) Erickson in Sioux City, IA. He was baptized and confirmed at Concordia Lutheran Church in Concord.

He attended country school and graduated from Concord High in 1946.

He married Fern Piwenitzky on March 25, 1951 at Grace Lutheran Church in Wayne. Keith was then drafted into the army in June, 1951 and served his country in the Korean War through 1953. After returning home he began farming and worked various jobs along the way.

He was fortunate enough to have gone on the Korean War Honor Flight to Washington, D.C. in 2013. Member of American Legion #54, Laurel. Life member of VFW #5291, Wayne.

Keith was blessed with 5 children, 8 grandchildren, and 5 great-grandchildren. He enjoyed spending time with family, polka music, dancing, wood working and playing cards.

Keith was a faithful member of Concordia Lutheran Church and served on the church board. He also served on the Laurel-Concord school board.

Survivors include wife Fern Erickson, children Denise (Tom) Tiedgen of Lincoln, Vicki (Mark) Carlson of Omaha, Pastor Michael (Jerri) Erickson of Pampa, TX, Scott (Brenda) Erickson of Seward; grandchildren Erika (Brian) Wilson, Ryan (Jessie) Tiedgen, Ashley (Shea) McClanahan, Emily (Steve) Muhlbauer, Sydney Erickson, Garrett Erickson, Seth Erickson, and Matthew Erickson; and five great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by parents Raymond and Ethel, twin brother Kenneth in 1968 and infant daughter Kay in 1960.
