Funeral Services for Glenda Hurlbert, age 78, of Carroll, will be held at United Methodist Church in Carroll on Friday at 10:30 a.m. Visitation will be at Hasemann Funeral Home in Wayne on Thursday from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. with family present. Interment will be at Elmwood Cemetery in Carroll. She passed away on Friday at Careage Campus of Care in Wayne. Memorials may be directed to the Carroll United Methodist Church Building Fund. Arrangements are with Hasemann Funeral Home of Wayne.
Glenda Faye Hurlbert was born November 18, 1939, at Winside to Segvard and Evelyn (Moeding) Nelson. She graduated from Winside High School. Glenda married Arlyn Hurlbert July 27, 1957, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Winside. The couple moved to Minnesota for a short time before returning to Carroll. Glenda was employed as an in-home day care provider for many years before working at the Sportsman Motel. She was a custodian at Wayne State College for approximately ten years. She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Carroll.
Glenda is survived by her children, Todd (Lisa) Hurlbert of Brigham, UT, Scott (Robyn) Hurlbert of Carroll, Cody (Heidi) Hurlbert of Tremonton, UT, Brent (Jeanne) Hurlbert of Fremont, Trevor (Holly) Hurlbert of Wayne, and Jason (Jennifer) Hurlbert of Headland, AL; 19 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Sylvia Bowers of Englewood, CO and Mary (Tom) Walker of Tega Cay, South Carolina; nieces and nephews.
Glenda was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Arlyn in 2014; a grandson, Travis Hurlbert; many sisters-in-law; brothers-in-law and family friends.
