Funeral Services for Carol Rempfer, age 82, of Winside, will be held at United Methodist Church in Winside on Saturday, August 10th at 10:30 a.m.  Visitation will be at United Methodist Church in Winside on Saturday, August 10th from 9:00 a.m. until Service Time. Interment will be at Pleasant View Cemetery in Winside. She passed away on Wednesday at St. Joseph’s Care Center in Norfolk. Carol’s family requests memorials be made to the Parkinson Foundation, Winside Fire and Rescue, Faith Regional Service Foundation or Hospice, and Providence Medical Center Hospice. Arrangements are with Hasemann Funeral Home of Wayne.

Carol Jean Rempfer was born August 12, 1936, at Aberdeen, SD to Alfred Dean and Nellie Parkin (Silver) Ettles. Carol grew up on the family ranch.  Carol married Jim Rempfer August 23, 1954, at Corinth, Mississippi.  To this union two sons were born, Mark Lawton and Boyd Ettles.  The family moved to Nebraska in 1969.  Carol was a nurse and worked for Dr. Brauer at the Lutheran Hospital in Norfolk and Providence Medical Center in Wayne until she retired.

Carol is survived by her husband, Jim; son, Boyd Rempfer of Nederland, TX; daughter-in-law, Joan (Hochstein) Rempfer of  Stephan City VA; sisters, Josie Potratz of Leola, SD and Victoria Ettles of Aberdeen, SD; grandchildren, Kate (Harley) McCain and Beth Rempfer all of Lincoln;  great-granddaughter, Ada McCain; step-grandsons, John (Ashley) Brogie  and Joe Brogie of Los Angeles, CA; step-great-granddaughters, Hazel and Eleanor Brogie; nieces and nephews,

Carol was preceded in death by her parents; son, Mark Lawton Rempfer and sister, Mary (Adolph) Zantow.
