There will be a Celebration of Life for Alice Mohr, age 82, and John Mohr, age 78, of Carroll at Rooster’s Steakhouse and Grill in Carroll on Sunday, May 26th, from 3:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m.

Alice passed away on Sunday, May 12th at Hillcrest Care Center in Laurel. She donated her body for Medical Science. John passed away February 22, 2018, at Providence Medical Center in Wayne. He donated his body for Medical Science.

Alice Jean was born December 3, 1936, the second daughter of Fred H. and Helen (Dorr) Maurer.

After high school graduation in 1954, she attended Wayne State College and taught school for nine years. In 1957, she married Everett Davis and helped in his produce station and trucking line.  Everett died in 1986.

Alice was a Jack (“Jill”) of all trades.  In addition to the above she worked for several years at various restaurants in her area.  She mowed many lawns including the Carroll cemetery, managed the low-income housing, wall papered and painted, did many sewing, knitting and crocheted projects and donated hundreds of stocking caps, quilts, and plastic mats for the homeless. Her final gift was the donation of her body to the Anatomical Board for medical research.

She married John Mohr in 1998.

Preceding Alice were her parents; sister, Marie, infant sister, Mary Ann; and her husbands.  She is survived by sister, Anita Dover, Lincoln, NE;  step-daughter,  Laurie Johnson, Shenandoah, IA; sister-in-law, Cleo Snyder,  Omaha; nieces,  Kyle Dover, Mesa, AZ ,  Kelli Ladd, West Des Moines, IA and  Julie Contreras, Omaha, NE;  nephews, Kevin Dover, Austin, TX and  Loren Nelson, Grimes, IA; and many friends.
