Mike Daum, the South Dakota State standout from Kimball, Nebraska, has declared for the NBA draft.

Daum, who has one season left of eligibility, won’t hire an agent, leaving the option open for him to return to college if he withdraws from the draft by June 11. Daum will be able to work out for NBA teams beginning April 24 and is eligible for the NBA combine, which is held May 16-20.

The NBA draft will be held June 21.

“I’m excited to pursue my dream and see where this process will take me!” Daum wrote on Twitter.

Daum is a two-time Summit League player of the year and twice received All-America honorable mention. He helped lead SDSU to the NCAA tournament each of the last three seasons, scoring 27 points in a first-round loss to Ohio State last month.

Daum was one of three players nationally last season to average more than 20 points (23.9) and 10 rebounds (10.3) per game. He holds the two highest single-season scoring marks in school history with 878 points in 2016-17 and 836 points in 2017-18.
