Youth, High School-Aged Basketball Players Invited To WSC Women’s Basketball Camp

WAYNE – Head women’s basketball coach at Wayne State College, Brent Pollari has announced an opportunity for players from third grade through seniors in high school to participate in a four-day camp.

From the WSC Recreation Center and Rice Auditorium, the women’s basketball program will host a skills camp from Monday, June 3 – Thursday, June 6.

Those in grades 3-8 will be instructed on fundamentals associated with the game of basketball while 9th through 12th graders will be offered an opportunity to take their game to the next level and presented with new basketball skills to learn and improve on.

Check-in will be on the first day of camp (Monday, June 3rd) from 8:30 – 9:00 a.m. with the camp running each day from 9:00 a.m. until noon. Cost of the camp is $80 and includes a camp t-shirt as players are asked to bring appropriate shoes.

Registration can be done by going to www.wscwomensbasketballcamps.com. No walk-in registrations are accepted as all information and registration/payment has to be done online.

The Wildcat women’s basketball team will also be hosting their 2019 Summer League. Every Wednesday starting next Wednesday, May 29 and ending June 26 there will be two divisions of varsity (upper and lower) and two divisions of junior varsity (upper and lower). Each team will play two games per night and the Summer League Champions in each division will receive t-shirts.

Cost to sign up a varsity or junior varsity team is $300 per team with payment being due May 29. Register online by midnight Monday, May 27 under the camp website.
