Youth Baseball Continues Thursday, Into The Weekend

WAYNE – After recording a 16-1 win on Monday, the #3 Wayne Pony Youth Baseball team will be back in action Thursday evening along with the start to the Didget Tournament.

Pony games being played at 6:30 p.m. tonight include #1 Pierce vs. #8 Tekamah-Herman; #4 Oakland/Craig vs. #5 Logan View; #3 Wayne vs. #6 Wisner and #2 Arlington vs. #10 Lyons/Bancroft.

Semifinal Pony games are scheduled to be played in West Point this Saturday as well as the championship and consolation games on Monday with times TBD.

Eleven games are set to be played tonight during the 2018 Didget Tri County League Tournament.

Wayne teams include #8 Wayne Blue hosting #25 Columbus Lakeview at 6 p.m. followed by #9 Wayne Black vs. #24 Arlington White at 8 p.m. If both teams win, they’ll play each other on Saturday in the second round.

#16 Schuyler Green vs. #17 North Bend Blacksoxs (winner faces #1 North Bend Whitesoxs); #12 Wisner vs. #21 Logan View Blue (winner faces #5 West Point Patriots); #13 Logan View Gold vs. #20 Tekamah-Herman Purple (winner gets #4 Pender Red); #14 West Point Twins vs. #19 Wakefield (winner faces #3 Pender White); #11 Lyons vs. #22 Pierce; #6 Howells-Dodge vs. #27 Scribner-Snyder; #7 Oakland vs. #26 Stanton; #10 Arlington Maroon vs. #23 Schuyler Red and #15 Tekamah-Herman Gold vs. #18 West Point Royals (winner faces #2 Wayne White).

Round three games will be on Monday, July 9 with semifinal games held next Wednesday along with championship and consolation games being played in Arlington on Friday, July 13.

The 2018 Bronco Tournament will start tomorrow as both Wayne Bronco teams earned a first round bye to Sunday, July 8.

#1 Wayne White will await the winner of either #16 Arlington White or #17 Lyons while #4 Wayne Blue will face either #13 West Point Royals or #20 North Bend Drillers. A correction from a comment made earlier that both the Wayne White and Blue Broncos would play each other in North Bend during the semifinals next Thursday, July 12.
