Youth Baseball Back On Home Diamond For Tri County League Tournament Tuesday

WAYNE – Following a four-day break in-between games, the Tri County League Didget and Pony Divisions will return for their second-round tournament action this evening.

From the Summer Sports Complex in Wayne, both Pony teams along with the Wayne Blue Didgets will be on the home diamond.

#3 Wayne Blue improved to 9-3 with their 16-6 win over #14 Schuyler last Thursday and will next host #11 Pierce (4-8) at 8 p.m. this evening. Wayne Blue ended the regular season with a 17-2 win over Pierce. #4 Wayne White is now 8-4 after a 12-4 win over #13 BRLD. Wayne White will now host #5 West Point Patriots (8-4) at 6 p.m. tonight.

Other quarterfinal games will be #2 Oakland-Craig vs. #7 Howells/Dodge and #1 Pender vs. #8 Wakefield.

The semifinals of the Pony Division (Thursday, July 8) as well as consolation and championship (Saturday, July 10) games will be held in Schuyler.

 

In the Upper Didget Division (top 12 teams), #2 Wayne Blue (10-1) will open the postseason tourney with a second-round match-up against #10 West Point Patriots. The Patriots (7-4) defeated #7 Oakland-Craig, 5-2 last Thursday.

Other quarterfinal games will be #1 Tekamah-Herman vs. #8 Howells-Dodge, #4 Tekamah-Herman Gold vs. #5 West Point Wildcats and #3 Pender vs. #6 North Bend Orange.

Semifinal Didget games (Thursday, July 8) along with the consolation and championship (Saturday, July 10) games will be played in Bancroft or Lyons.

 

Lower Division Didget games (bottom 11) will play their second round this evening with #1 Logan View Blue hosting #8 Pierce; #4 Wakefield entertaining #5 Emerson-Hubbard; #2 Logan View Gold vs. #7 Schuyler and #3 North Bend Black vs. #6 Stanton. Semifinal games will be held on Thursday, July 8 with the championship game on Saturday, July 10.

 

Semifinal Bronco games will return to action on Wednesday, July 7 as #3 Wayne Blue (6-7) will compete in the Lower Division (bottom 8) championship game against #5 Bancroft-Lyons (5-8). First pitch is scheduled for 7 p.m. from the Summer Sports Complex in Wayne.

Wayne Blue opened the tourney with a 14-4 win over #6 Emerson-Hubbard on June 28 and won 11-6 over #2 Logan View Gold on June 30.

 

In the Upper Division of the Bronco tournament (top 12 teams), #1 Pender will face #5 Howells-Dodge and #2 Schuyler will play #3 West Point Patriots hosted by Tekamah-Herman on Wednesday, July 7. The consolation and championship round will also be hosted by Tekamah-Herman on Friday, July 9.

#7 Wayne White (7-5) went 1-1 in the postseason Upper Division Bronco tourney with a 13-3 victory over #10 Tekamah-Herman on June 28 but suffered a 9-8 loss at #2 Schuyler on June 30.
