WAYNE – After posting a 2-2 road record over the past week, the Wayne State College volleyball team had their Top 25 rankings updated.
According to a release from Wayne State Athletics, the Wildcats are now #15 in the AVCA Division II Top 25 Coaches Poll dropping two spots.
WSC is receiving 481 points in the week 10 rankings from various Division II coaches from across the country.
The Wildcats snapped a two-match losing streak and swept two opponents they swept on the home court earlier this season of Bemidji State and Minnesota Crookston.
Wayne State College is now 20-6 (13-5 NSIC/4th) and will next host #11 St. Cloud State on Friday, November 12 at 6 p.m. and (RV) Minnesota Duluth on Saturday, November 13 at 1 p.m.
WSC won in four sets at UMD earlier this season but suffered a four-set loss to SCSU on the road in mid-September.
St. Cloud State sits 22-4 overall and the top team in the conference (17-1 NSIC) while the Bulldogs are 18-9 (10-8 NSIC/tied for 9th).
Other NSIC team rated: #8 Winona State (one first place vote/24-3) remained the same; #11. St. Cloud State (22-4) moved up one spot; #14 Concordia-St. Paul (20-7) fell four spots; #15 WSC (20-6) fell two spots and #17 Southwest Minnesota State (19-7) fell three spots. Upper Iowa (12) and Minnesota Duluth (5) were receiving votes and listed on tow or more ballots.
