WAYNE – Due to unforeseen circumstances, the Wayne State College track & field program regrets that they have to move the camp for high school-aged students back a week to Sunday, February 28.
According to a release from the Wayne Athletics office, the WSC Track & Field camp will last from 8:00 am until noon next Sunday. For those who already registered and are unable to attend on the new date, email head coach Marlon Brink at mabrink1@wsc.edu for a refund.
Again, WSC Track & Field apologizes for any inconvenience this may cause.
If athletes still want to register, the website will remain open until next weekend and they can still sign up at: www.wsctrackcamps.com. Cost is $75 for student-athletes and $20 for coaches as registration is required with no walk-up or day of camp registration allowed.
The camp is a developmental clinic to help become a better athlete and coach for those in grades 9th – 12th. The clinic is designed to teach techniques, offer constructive criticism and give assistance in a workout environment.
Event groups include shot put, discus, hammer throw, weight throw, high jump, long jump, triple jump, middle distance/distance as well as sprints and hurdles.
Due to COVID restrictions this year, parents are not able to attend and watch. All participants must wear a mask during the camp.
