WSC CatBacker Scholarship Golf Tournament Slated For June 1

WAYNE – With about two weeks until the annual Wayne State College CatBacker Golf Tournament, make sure to get your team put tougher to enjoy a days’ worth of fun.

Wildcat alumni and friends are invited back to the Wayne Country Club with proceeds benefiting the Wayne State College Student-Athlete Scholarship Fund. The four-person scramble is scheduled for Friday, June 1.

The day will be broken down with registration and breakfast from 8 – 9:15 a.m., followed by a welcome and orientation of the course between 9:15 – 9:30 a.m. and a shotgun start at 9:30 a.m. Lunch will be provided on the course from 11:30 a.m. – 1 p.m., dinner to follow the tournament between 3:30 – 5:30 p.m. and a program with awards from 5 – 6 p.m.

A message from Athletic Director Mike Powicki, “In order for WSC Athletics to have success we rely on the proceeds from events like this to fund student-athlete scholarships. Mark your calendars today and join us in Wayne, America…for a fun event in support of our Wildcat coaches, student-athletes and teams!”

Cost options include a team entry with no carts is $440, team entry with one cart is $480 and a team entry with two carts is $520. For individuals with a cart, cost is $115 and individuals that need a cart, cost is $135. Other day of event options are individual pick-a-putt and mulligan ($10 each), team pick-a-putt and mulligan ($40 each) as well as a team buy-a-drive on hole #16 Par 5 ($10).

Prizes will be awarded to the top three teams in four flights along with the top two teams in the mixed/women’s division.
