Women’s Basketball Conference Players Of The Week Honors Come From Games Played In Wayne

WAYNE – After setting a career-high in scoring, a Wayne State College women’s basketball athlete was one-point and rebound away from a double-double over the weekend.

Sophomore forward, Erin Norling (Loretto, MN) was tabbed the NSIC South Division Player of the Week during a non-conference opening weekend for WSC. The league office in Burnsville, Minnesota made the announcement Tuesday afternoon.

The Wildcat women secured wins over Northwest Missouri State (75-58) and Nebraska-Kearney (69-52) during the NSIC/MIAA Crossover at Rice Auditorium November 9-10.

Norling posted a career-high in scoring with 21 points on 10-20 shooting during a Friday night victory over the Bearcats. The second year player then added nine points and nine rebounds to go along with two blocks on Saturday from the in-state win over UNK.

The NSIC North Division Player of the Week went to redshirt senior forward/center Isieoma Odor of Minnesota Crookston. Odor averaged 17.5 points and 14 rebounds in wins over Northwest Missouri State (79-71) and UNK (71-59) during the same Crossover weekend as WSC.

Wayne State College is 2-0 on the season and will next compete in the Subway Classic held in Quincy, Illinois this weekend. WSC will open with Truman State of Missouri on Friday at 5 p.m. before taking on the host, Quincy (Ill) Saturday at 3 p.m.
