WINSIDE – Following a road dual victory earlier in the week, the Winside wrestling program welcomed in 14 schools during a home invite.
From Winside Public Schools, the Wildcats hosted the 53rd annual Winside Wrestling Invite on Saturday.
The host Winside won the invitational with 172 points, followed by Pender with 127.5 points in runner-up, Guardian Angels Central Catholic took third with 116 points, Ponca came in fourth with 87 points as Osmond rounded out the top five teams (70).
Winside top finishers were Korbin Carlson (113), Jacoby Mann (120), Maddox Magwire (138), Art Escalante (145) and Gabe Escalante (160) all won their weight class while Cayden Ellis (126) and Mason Topp (195) both came in runner-up. Cooper Behmer (120) and Mace Magwire (132) took fourth.
The Winside wrestling program will next compete in the Weeping Water Invite on Friday, January 14 starting at 3 p.m.
