Winside Volleyball Takes Care Of Business On Home Court

WINSIDE – Following a home triangular split on Tuesday, the Winside volleyball team competed on the home court for the second time this week.

From Winside, the Class D2 Wildcats welcomed in Class D1 Bloomfield on Thursday.

Winside won in straight sets of 25-18, 25-17, 25-20 to now sit 5-7 on the season. Bloomfield fell to 3-7.

Anslee Watters posted a double-double with 10 kills and 19 digs to go along with three aces while Natalie Kruger added 20 assists, five digs, three kills and three aces.

Skye Schultz tacked on five kills, two solo blocks and a dig; Hannah Gubbels had four kills, nine digs and a solo block; Aubrey Russel tallied four kills, five digs and three solo blocks; Micah Stenwall finished with three kills and six digs as other digs came from Jerzi Carlson (18, an ace) and Samantha Gubbels (two).

Again, from Winside Public Schools, there’ll be no volleyball on Saturday against Cedar Bluffs as the match has been postponed and Friday’s high school football road game at Walthill will now kickoff at 2 p.m. (previously 3 p.m.).

The Winside volleyball team will be of until Monday, September 19 when the Wildcats visit Walthill.
