Winside Volleyball Sweeps Road Triangular Matches

WALTHILL – For the third time this season, the Winside Wildcat volleyball team competed in a road triangular.

Thursday evening in Walthill, Winside was joined by Santee.

The Wildcats swept both Santee (25-15, 25-11) and the host, Walthill (25-9, 25-21). Winside improves to 6-7 on the season and has won five consecutive matches.

From the win over Santee, Andi Bargstadt paced Winside at the net with 16 kills followed by Kati Topp with another six. Brooklyn Behmer led the team in set assists with 16.

In the sweep over Walthill, Bargstadt used a 10-kill performance while Top added six kills. Behmer tacked on another 16 set assists as Jackie Escalante posted seven service aces and seven digs.

In the third match, Walthill won in three sets over Santee (25-23, 21-25, 25-21) to now sit 3-7 while Santee drops to 0-13.

The Winside volleyball team will next host Pender on Monday, September 24.
