Winside Volleyball Suffers Home Loss

WINSIDE – The home streak of games played continued for the Winside volleyball team.

For the sixth time and third straight match, the Wildcats hosted an opponent on their home court. Winside entertained Wynot Tuesday evening.

Wynot took the first set close and went on to sweep Winside (26-24, 25-22, 25-19). The Wildcats fell to 6-3 on the season as Wynot is now 5-0.

Jaden Rastede recorded a team-high nine kills followed by McKenna Russell with six kills to go along with 11 digs and five set assists for Winside. Hope Cummins also tallied six digs while picking up five solo blocks and three service aces. Brooklyn Behmer posted a double-double with 12 set assists and 11 digs; Kati Topp and Andi Bargstadt both had 10 digs while as Jackie Escalante tacked on four service aces.

The Winside volleyball team will next host their second of four triangulars when Homer and Osmond come to town on Tuesday, September 17.
