WINSIDE – The Winside volleyball team competed at home during an early week D2 vs. D1 showdown.
Winside entertained the Pender Pendragons Monday evening where the Wildcats have won five straight matches.
Winside jumped ahead early winning 25-21 and 25-17 before the Pendragons stormed back in sets three and four (25-22, 26-24). In the fifth set, Winside won 15-12 to improve to 7-7 on the season as Pender fell to 3-9.
Andi Bargstadt went off for a double-double recording 21 kills and 37 digs as Hope Cummins posted a double-double with 14 kills and 12 digs. Brooklyn Behmer added a double-double with 32 set assists and 24 digs followed by Makenna Russell with 15 assists and 18 digs. Kati Topp picked up nine kills, seven from Jaden Rastede to go along with six blocks. Haylee Cummins tacked on 26 digs.
The Winside volleyball team will be off until a Tuesday, October 2 road match with Niobrara/Verdigre.
