Winside Uses Four Pins, Three Wins By Forfeit To Win Wrestling Dual Over Winnebago

WINSIDE – With another home event coming up later this week and a road invite, the Winside wrestling program hosted their parent’s night dual Tuesday.

From Winside Public Schools, the event was scheduled to be a triangular with Tri County Northeast (Allen/Emerson-Hubbard) but was changed to just a dual against Winnebago.

Winside secured the 42-24 home dual victory over Winnebago thanks to four pins and three wins by forfeit.

Contested match wins for the Wildcats came from Jacoby Mann (126) over Zeke Sharpback-Lujan by fall (0:14), Maddox Magwire (132) over Alonzo Bass by fall (3:27), Art Escalante (138) over Melaki George by fall (1:29) and Mason Topp (182) over Kaden Kennedy by fall (0:53).

Cooper Behmer (113), Gabe Escalante (145) and Tyler Carlson (152) all won by forfeit.

Winnebago’s lone contested victory saw Darion Earth (285) win by fall (1:07) over Zach Billstein. Ladanian Free (120), RJ Urbanec (195) and Zeriah George (220) all won by forfeit.

Both teams double forfeit 106, 160 and 170.

The Winside wrestlers will next host a quadrangular on Thursday, December 17. Quad County Northeast (Randolph/LCC), Pender and Stanton will join the Wildcats.
