Wildcat Women’s Golf Takes Third During Missouri Western Invite, Taylor T-7th Individually

ST. JOSEPH, MO – Following a fifth-place day one start to the Missouri Western Holiday Inn Express Invite on Monday, the Wayne State College women’s golf team moved up a couple spots to third closing out the two-day invite with rounds of 338 and 326.

From the St. Joseph Country Club in St. Joseph, Missouri, the Wildcats finished third place with a 664, just 10 strokes behind runner-up and host Missouri Western at 654 (336/318).

Rogers State University of Oklahoma captured the team title with a 627 (313/314).

Wayne State top female golfers were Jazmine Taylor who tied for seventh place out of 76 golfers with a 161 (83/78) followed by Mekky Winyarat in a tie for 22nd with a 36-hole total of 166 (85/81).

Morgan Brasser of Fort Hays State won the invite with a two-day total of 146 (74/72).

The Wayne State College women’s golf team will next compete at the Newman Invite next Monday, April 4 and Tuesday, April 5 from the Sand Creek Station Golf Club in Newton, Kansas. WSC will be hosting the Wildcat Classic on Monday, April 11 and Tuesday, April 12 from the Wayne Country Club while the NSIC Championships will be in Smithville, Missouri (Paradise Pointe Golf Complex) from Friday, April 22 – Sunday, April 24.
