WAYNE – The month of November will feature five contests for the Wayne State College women’s basketball program, three at home with two starting this weekend.
WSC has competed in a couple scrimmages as their regular season will tipoff during a NSIC/MIAA Crossover with Minnesota Crookston also in town Friday, November 9 and Saturday, November 10.
From Rice Auditorium, WSC will open with Northwest Missouri State Friday night at 7:30 p.m. and take on Nebraska-Kearney Saturday at 5:30 p.m. The Golden Eagles, representing the other NSIC team will take on UNK Friday at 5:30 p.m. and the Bearcats Saturday at 3:30 p.m.
If you can’t make it out to the game, both Wildcat contests will be covered on the Wildcat Sports Network and online at waynedialynews.com. Friday night’s game can be heard on Big Red Country 104.9 beginning at 7 p.m. as Saturday’s game will be aired on 98.9 FM/AM 1590 The City starting at 5 p.m.
Wayne State College finished 25-7 overall, 18-4 in the NSIC (4th) last year and will be under new leadership with coach Brent Pollari taking over. The Bearcats ended last year with records of 5-22 (4-15 MIAA/13th) and will also be under a new head coach as Nebraska-Kearney is coming off a 21-7 (13-6 MIAA/T-4th) season a year ago
The Wayne State women will then prepare for a road trip to Quincy, Illinois on Friday and Saturday, November 16-17 to compete in the Subway Tip-Off classic. WSC will close out their November schedule with a home contest against Peru State on Saturday, November 24 at 4 p.m.
