Wildcat Volleyball Up Two More Spots, Gearing Up For Top 15 Showdown Saturday  

WAYNE – The Wayne State College volleyball team will continue their home stretch with two more matches at Rice Auditorium during homecoming on the campus of WSC.

The Wildcats have also gained two more spots in the AVCA Division II Top 25 Coaches’ poll now ranking 15th receiving 438 points in voting conducted by coaches from across the country.

WSC is now 12-1 on the season and have won three straight home matches. The ‘Cats recently swept Minot State and University of Mary this past weekend.

Wayne State will welcome in Minnesota State-Mankato on Friday, October 4 at 6 p.m. and #7 Concordia-St. Paul on Saturday, October 5 at 4 p.m.

Cal State San Bernardino remains as the top team (39 first place votes) with their 11-0 record just one of four teams undefeated inside the top 25 (2nd Western Washington, 4th UNK and T-23rd Wingate).

Other NSIC ranked teams joining WSC include: #3 Minnesota Duluth (1 first place vote) at 11-1 moved up a spot, #7 Concordia-St. Paul (9-3) remained the same, #8 Southwest Minnesota State (10-2) remained the same, #9 Northern State (10-2) dropped a spot, #12 St. Cloud State (11-1) up three spots, #19 Sioux Falls (11-1) remained the same and #22 Upper Iowa (10-2) up a spot. Winona State (62) and Augustana (13) are receiving votes and listed on two or more ballots.
