Wildcat Volleyball Up One Spot To #7 In Top 25 Coaches Poll

WAYNE – With a pair of road matches scheduled for the weekend, the Wayne State College volleyball team moved up one spot in the AVCA Division II Top 25 Coaches Poll.

According to a release from Wayne State Athletics, WSC is now #7 and received 863 points in voting conducted by coaches.

Wayne State College recently won three straight home matches to improve to 10-2 overall and 4-1 in NSIC play.

#1 Washburn remained at the top of the poll with 37 first place votes.

Joining the Wildcats inside the top 25 are #4 Concordia St. Paul (up two spots); #6 Southwest Minnesota State (two first place votes/down one spot); #11 Winona State (remained the same); #16 St. Cloud State (up four spots) and #22 Minnesota Duluth (down three spots). Northern State (67 points) was also receiving votes and listed on two or more ballots.

#7 Wayne State College will play road matches this weekend at the University of Mary Friday night at 6 p.m. and Minot State Saturday at 2 p.m.
