WAYNE – The Week #4 AVCA (American Volleyball Coaches Association) Top 25 Coaches’ Poll was released Tuesday afternoon where Wayne State College remained at #18.
The 10-3 overall and 3-2 NSIC Wildcats have been inside the regular season Top 25 rankings dating back to September 28, 2009. WSC enters the week with 354 points received in voting conducted by various Division II coaches from across the country.
WSC was swept by then #3 Concordia-St. Paul and stuck out a five-set home win over Minnesota State-Mankato last weekend.
Other Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference volleyball teams rated inside the Top 25 include: #1 Northern State (13-0) is up one spot with 1,168 points/41 first-place votes; #2 Concordia-St. Paul (11-2) up one spot with 1,107/six first-place votes; #9 Minnesota Duluth (10-3) down three spots and #10 Southwest Minnesota State (9-4) down three spots.
The 18th ranked Wildcat volleyball team will next visit Upper Iowa on Friday, September 21 at 6 p.m. and at Winona State on Saturday, September 22 at 4 p.m.
