Wildcat Volleyball Prevails In Straight Sets

WAYNE – After securing a home victory in four sets earlier this week, the Wayne State College volleyball team continued their five-game homestand into the weekend.

From Rice Auditorium, #17 WSC entertained Minot State University.

The Wildcats picked up their ninth win via the sweep this season (25-13, 25-15, 25-14). WSC improves to 11-1 (2-1 NSIC) while Minot State fell to 0-10 (0-3 NSIC).

Jaci Brahmer led the team with 11 kills and nine blocks on the night (one solo). Tarrin Beller followed with seven kills as Katie Stephens, Maddie Knobbe (eight block assists) and Kelsie Cada (14 digs) all recorded six kills. Rachel Walker tallied 29 set assists while Haley Kauth tied for the team lead in digs with 14.

Wayne State outhit MISU .217 to .057 while finishing with more aces (6-1) and blocks (12-1) than the Beavers.

#17 Wayne State will host University of Mary Saturday at 1 p.m.
