Wildcat Men To Compete In Florida Over Next Two Days

ST. PETERSBURG, FL – Southeast will be the direction Wayne State College men’s basketball will be heading for a weekend tournament.

From St. Petersburg, Florida, the Wildcat men will compete in the Eckerd Thanksgiving Classic on Friday and Saturday, November 25 – 26.

WSC is 4-1 on the season and 1-0 in NISC play following a 69-61 road victory at preseason rated #18 Augustana University on November 22.

Wayne State College is also receiving votes just outside the top 25 coaches preseason poll.

The Wayne State College men will open Friday night against University of Tampa at 6 p.m. CT. Tampa is 1-2 on the season and coming off a 72-69 win over Barry on November 20.

WSC will also face the host Eckerd College at 6 p.m. CT on Saturday. Eckerd is 2-0 and will open their home tournament at the McArthur Center against Davenport University Friday evening.

NSIC play will resume for Wayne State College on Thursday, December 1 at Sioux Falls at 5:30/7:30 p.m. with the Wildcat women and men hosting Southwest Minnesota State on Saturday, December 3 at 3:30/5:30 p.m. from Rice Auditorium.
