SIOUX FALLS, SD – For the second time this season, the Wayne State College football team will take to the road for a divisional showdown.

A pair of 1-1 NSIC South teams will take to the field on Saturday, September 21 when Wayne State visits Augustana University for the 48th annual Shrine game (Augie’s athletic hall of fame game).

The ‘Cats are coming off an overtime home win of 19-13 over Southwest Minnesota State which snapped a five-game home losing streak. The Vikings suffered a road loss to #3 Minnesota State-Mankato of 27-7 and were outscored 17-0 in the third quarter.

Last season, Augie came to Wayne and held on for the 27-21 win while the year prior in Sioux Falls, South Dakota WSC was victorious 16-13 thanks to seven Wildcat interceptions. Augustana holds an 11-9-1 lead in the all-time series.
