Wildcat Football Schedule Released, Two Home Games Under The Lights In September

WAYNE – With individual and eight-man team camps still on the summer schedule hosted by the Wayne State College football team, the Wildcats will be gearing up for their 2021 season.

According to a release from the Wayne State Athletics Department, the Wildcat fall football schedule is complete.

John McMenamin was introduced as Wayne State’s 22nd head football coach in the 103-year history of the program on December 10, 2019. The fall of 2020 season was canceled due to the pandemic while the team hosted Nebraska-Kearney and visited Chadron State College in a pair of scrimmages this past spring.

The season will begin on Thursday, September 2 as Wayne State College will host University of Mary at 6 p.m. Other September games include at Bemidji State at 2 p.m. (9/11); vs. Minot State at 6 p.m. (9/18) and at Minnesota Duluth at 6 p.m. (9/25).

October will feature most of the NSIC South Division match-ups being Winona State on Saturday, October 2 at 1 p.m. during homecoming; at Minnesota State-Mankato at 1 p.m. (10/9); vs. Augustana at 1 p.m. (10/16); at Southwest Minnesota State at 5 p.m. (10/23) and at Upper Iowa at noon (10/30).

The Wildcat football team will conclude their season with games in November hosting Sioux Falls at 1 p.m. (11/6) and visiting MSU Moorhead at noon (11/13).

The Wildcats last played a conference game on November 16, 2019 and suffered a 41-21 home loss to Sioux Falls. WSC ended the season at 4-7.

 

Also, plan on joining the ‘Cats Unite Classic’ presented by WSC football at the Wayne Country Club on Friday, July 23. Register online as the event will begin with registration at 8:30 a.m.
