WAYNE – Over the course of a month the Wayne State College football team will play in four consecutive night games against NSIC South Division opponents.
Thursday night kicks off the 2018 NSIC football season with 14 of the 16 teams in action while one game is slated for Saturday.
WSC will entertain #21 Winona State University on Thursday, August 30 at 6 p.m. from Bob Cunningham Field on the campus of Wayne State College.
Winona State was picked second overall and second in the NSIC South during the Preseason NSIC Coaches Poll following a 10-2 record last season and advancing to the NCAA Division II playoffs. Wayne State College was selected ninth overall and fifth in the South following a 6-5 record in 2017, their first winning season since 2012.
The Warriors have won the past three meetings against WSC, including a 42-19 win in Winona, Minnesota last year while holding an 18-4 all-time record since the 1994 season. The last Wildcat win came in 2014 when the ‘Cats won 27-7 in Wayne.
