Wildcat Beach Volleyball Posts Two Wins Over South Mountain Community College

WAYNE – Spring break competition began for the Wayne State College beach volleyball program with a pair of matches in Arizona.

Wayne State College secured two wins over South Mountain Community College winning 5-0 and 4-1 on Monday. WSC improved to 2-2 while the Cougars fell to 1-5.

The Wildcat beach volleyball team won the opening match 5-0 along with an exhibition match, but the Wildcats had to battle in all of the matches with five of the six contests going all three sets.  Brooke Peltz and Ally Beresford in the 5’s pair recorded a sweep with all the other Wildcat victories coming by 2-1 scores including the exhibition match.

The second match saw WSC post a 4-1 win over the Cougars to go with a 2-0 sweep in the exhibition match. Three of Wayne State’s four pairs’ wins came via sweeps – Kelsie Cada/Jordan McCormick at 2’s, Jaz DeHaan and Rachel Walker in the 4’s pairs, Ally Beresford/Brooke Peltz in 5’s as well as Maggie Brahmer and Peltz in the exhibition match by a 2-0 score.

The Wayne State College beach volleyball program returns to the sand on Tuesday facing Mesa Community College in Mesa, Arizona at 11 a.m.
