Wildcat Basketball Welcomes NSIC North Division Foes

WAYNE – As the Wayne State College women’s and men’s basketball teams prepare for the final month of their regular season, both teams will entertain north division opponents.

From Rice Auditorium on the campus of Wayne State College, the ‘Cats will be hosting University of Mary on Friday, January 31 at 5:30/7:30 p.m. before welcoming Minot State (furthest north team) to town on Saturday, February 1 at 3:30/5:30 p.m.

The Wayne State women are 14-6 (9-5/3rd South) on the season while the Wildcat men enter 8-15 (5-9 NSIC/6th South).

The University of Mary women open the weekend 14-9 (8-6 NSIC/4th North) as Minot State sits 4-14 (1-13 NSIC/8th North).

The Wildcat women split with the Marauders (lost at Umary 65-50/won at Umary 54-52) and lost at Minot State (69-64) last season.

The Marauder men are 10-10 (5-9 NSIC/T-5th North) while the Minot State men are 9-11 (3-11 NSIC/8th North).

Last season, Wayne State defeated Umary twice (67-48 in Bismarck/84-62 in Wayne) and won the lone season matchup against the Beavers (85-79) in Minot.
