WAYNE – Wayne State College basketball teams will be hosting their first home games of 2019 this weekend when a pair of NSIC South Division teams visit.
From Rice Auditorium on the campus of Wayne State College, the ‘Cats will host Winona State and Upper Iowa on Friday, January 11 and Saturday, January 12.
Just over a month ago WSC visited the Peacocks and Warriors.
In the women’s showdown, WSC has dropped two of their last three games to sit 9-5 (4-4 NSIC) as Winona State enters 7-5 (5-3 NSIC) and Upper Iowa is 3-13 (0-8 NSIC).
Earlier this season (December 7-8), the ‘Cats held off Upper Iowa 68-60 and Winona State defeated the Wildcat women 61-56.
Previewing the men’s records, the ‘Cats are 11-3 (6-2 NSIC) while Winona State is 5-9 (2-6 NSIC) as Upper Iowa sits 6-8 (3-5 NSIC).
On December 7-8, WSC swept the road weekend by winning over Upper Iowa 83-56 and defeating Winona State in overtime 82-80.
Friday night’s action will start at 5:30 p.m. hosting Winona State University while Saturday’s double header with Upper Iowa University will begin at 3:30 p.m.
