WAYNE – After going 1-5 against two of the top three teams in NSIC play, the Wayne State College baseball team will close out their 2021 season this afternoon.
From the Pete Chapman Baseball Complex, WSC will host Upper Iowa at 1:30/3:30 p.m.
The Wildcat baseball team is 11-21 overall and 10-18 in the conference (11th). WSC recently went 1-2 against top 25 Augustana this past weekend splitting games of 7-1 (both scores) on Saturday and falling 16-8 on Sunday.
Upper Iowa University is 12-22 (10-17 NSIC) sitting one spot ahead of the Wildcats at 10th place. The Peacocks dropped a road doubleheader at Winona State University, 2-0 and 8-1 last Wednesday. Upper Iowa will still have a home three-game series with Augie this Friday, May 7 and Saturday, May 8.
Wayne State College is 4-12 on the home diamond this season while the Peacocks are 7-12 away from Fayette, Iowa.
The last meeting between the two teams came in 2019 when WSC won 10-7 and Upper Iowa won 10-5.
