Wildcat Baseball Games Canceled Due To COVID-19 Protocols

WAYNE – As the Wayne State College baseball team was scheduled to be on the road for a 13-game, 17-day stretch, their upcoming weekend series has been canceled.

According to a release from Wayne State Athletics, the WSC at Minnesota Crookston baseball series scheduled for this weekend in Crookston, Minnesota has been called off due to COVID-19 protocols.

Games were scheduled to be played Friday at 1 and 3 p.m. and the series finale Saturday at 12 p.m.

The next scheduled games for the Wildcats, 5-9 overall and 4-6 in the NSIC, are Wednesday, April 7 at Bemidji State with game times at 1:30 and 3:30 p.m. The Wildcats also have games at Minnesota Duluth (April 10 – 11); University of Mary (April 14) and Sioux Falls (April 17 – 18).

WSC recently suffered a pair of home losses to Minot State University on Tuesday, March 30 (15-14 and 15-6) and have dropped three straight. Wayne State is 4-7 at the Pete Chapman Baseball Complex and 1-2 in road games.

The next home series for the Wayne State College baseball team will be Wednesday, April 21 vs. Winona State University.
