WHS Volleyball Wins Sixth, Seventh Straight

ARLINGTON – Following a couple nights off from a weekend tournament sweep where the Wayne High volleyball team went 6-1 in sets played, WHS went back to work during a road triangular.

Arlington welcomed in both the Blue Devils and West Point-Beemer Tuesday.

In the match with the Cadets, WHS avenged an early season loss by sweeping West Point-Beemer (25-15, 25-15) and swept the host, Arlington (25-10, 25-8). The Blue Devils have won seven straight and are now 15-7 on the season. West Point-Beemer swept Arlington, (25-22, 25-16) improving to 16-5 while the Eagles fell to 3-13.

During the victory against West Point-Beemer, Lauren Pick recorded 14 kills and five digs while Emily Longe added six kills. Sydney Redden led the team in digs with 13 followed by Rubie Klausen with eight. Kiara Krusemark tallied 24 set assists.

From the win over Arlington, Pick (six digs) and Longe both finished with five kills. Redden paced the team in digs with 10 while Klausen finished with eight. Krusemark totaled 14 set assists. Service aces also came from Redden with two and Reagan Backer (six digs) with one while Kate Hill, Krusemark and Klausen all had a solo block.

The Wayne High volleyball team will next visit Stanton on Thursday, October 1.
