WHS Volleyball Suffers Road Loss

STANTON – Following a five-set home victory on Tuesday, the Wayne High volleyball program took to the road Thursday night.

From Stanton Community Schools, Class C1 WHS visited C2 Stanton.

The host Mustangs picked up the win in straight sets of 25-8, 25-17, 25-18. Stanton is now 11-10 overall while Wayne High fell to 3-18.

Kate Hill recorded a team-high six kills to go along with six digs, Faith Powicki led the team in digs with 16 as Isabelle Francis had 13 assists.

Amelia Legler added three kills, Haley Kramer (three digs) and Jaycee Bruns (eight digs) both had two kills. Anna Kaup and Gabbi Judd both had a dig.

Kramer posted four service aces as Hill had an ace. Legler and Hill both tallied a block.

The Wayne High volleyball team will compete in the Boone Central Triangular on Tuesday, October 4 along with Pierce.
