WHS Softball Back In Action Thursday

WAYNE – Following a nine-day break from competition, the Wayne High softball team will return to their home diamond for the final time during the regular season.

From the Blue Devil Softball Complex, WHS will welcome in a fellow Class B opponent on Thursday, September 24.

The Blue Devils are 14-2 on the season last outscoring four opponents 59-3 being West Point-Beemer, Schuyler, Boone Central and Pierce in a pair of road triangulars last Monday and Tuesday, September 14-15. WHS has won five straight.

The NEN Vipers is a co-op team from Wisner-Pilger, BRLD and Pender. The team is 14-3 winning five consecutive. NEN most recently won 12-4 at Arlington on Tuesday of this week.

The JV game will open the night at 5 p.m. followed by the varsity contest scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Thursday.

Wayne High softball will next compete in the Adams Central Invite this weekend, visit GACC next Thursday and close out their regular season in the Mid State Conference tournament next weekend in West Point.
