WHS Boys Golf Crowned Champion Of LHNE Invite, Three Top 10 Individuals

NORFOLK – Following a road invite earlier this week, the Wayne High boys golf team added a Thursday invitational to their schedule.

From the Norfolk Country Club, WHS joined 10 other teams during the Lutheran High Northeast Invite.

Wayne High won the invite with a 350 team score. The Blue Devils were led by Tanner Walling in second place (78); Bo Armstrong placed fourth (83) and Drew Sharpe took home eighth place (86).

Other top Wayne High performances came from Cameron Weaselhead (103) and Kyran Bartos (110).

Wayne High won the Lutheran High Northeast Invite by 11 strokes as Pierce followed in second with a 361; Norfolk Catholic and Ponca tied for third (373) while Tri County Northeast (Allen/Emerson-Hubbard) rounded out the top five teams with a 391.

The individual winner on the 18-hole course was Abram Scholting (Pierce) with a score of 76.

(Par 72 for individuals and 288 for teams)

The Wayne High boys varsity golf team will next compete in the Columbus Lakeview Invite on Thursday, April 28. The Blue Devil JV boys golf team will also participate in the rescheduled LCC Invite that same day.
