White Didget/Bronco Teams Take Town West Point Twins, Blues Suffer Losses To Patriots

WAYNE/WEST POINT – The Wayne White & Blue Didget/Bronco youth baseball teams saw time on the diamond Thursday against a pair West Point teams.

The White Didgets and Broncos visited the West Point Twins while the Blue Didgets and Broncos hosted the West Point Patriots.

In the White Didget game, Wayne secured a 7-0 shutout victory over the West Point Twins. Wayne improves to 1-2 on the season.

Noah Magnuson tossed four shutout innings as Jahiem Hamik went 2-for-3 with three RBI.

 

From the White Bronco contest, both teams scored a run in the first before Wayne added a run in the second and West Point tallied a run in the third. The Wayne White Broncos then opened the scoring column with a 5-1 fourth inning before bringing in one run in the fifth and two more in the sixth to win 10-3. The Wayne White Broncos won their fifth straight to improve to 5-2 on the season.

Will Leseberg and Carter Wiese both singled twice, drove in a run and scored while Zander Liston singled twice, drove in a run and scored twice and Brodrick Tiedtke singled twice and drove in a run. Parker Patefield doubled, drove in a run and scored twice; Gavin Anderson and Lance Stange both singled, drove in a run and scored; Alex Rodriguez singled and drove in a run; Jenner Dorey accounted for a RBI and Drew Reinhardt scored.

Anderson picked up the win in three and two-thirds allowing three runs (one earned) off one hit while striking out 10 batters and walking four. Tiedtke worked the final two and a third innings striking out six batters and walking one.

During the Blue Didget outing, the West Point Patriots won 15-3 as Wayne fell to 1-3 on the season.

Spencer Moormeier posted a double while Easton Gamble scored twice. Colston Starzl also scored, Camden Hall drove in a pair of runs and Parker Zara tallied a RBI.

Starzl pitched three innings striking out four batters while Aiden Petersen worked two innings striking out two batters.

 

In the Blue Bronco game, the West Point Patriots took control early with a 7-2 first inning before both teams scored a run in the second. West Point then added two runs in the third before Wayne scored two runs in the fourth but fell 10-5. The Wayne Blue Broncos have now dropped back-to-back to sit 4-3 on the season.

Adrian Contrares singled three times and drove in three runs while Jace Jorgensen added a single, double and scored once. Mason Heikes singled and drove in a run as Chase Nelson and Taven Ocampo both singled and scored. Dylan Jensen also accounted for two runs.

Contrares suffered the loss allowing seven runs (six earned) off five hits while walking two batters. Chase Nelson worked three innings allowing three runs (two earned) off four hits while striking out five batters and walking three as Dylan Jensen closed out the final two innings allowing one hit and walking one batter.

The Wayne Blue Didgets and Broncos will next visit Pender on Monday, June 29 at 6/7:30 p.m. while the White Broncos will play at Wakefield at 6/7:30 p.m. next Monday. The Wayne White Didgets are off until they take on the Wayne Blue Didgets on Thursday, July 2 at 6 p.m.
