White Broncos Use Late Inning Comeback Against Oakland, Blues Control Pierce From The Start

WAYNE/PIERCE – It was back to Tri-County League play for the Wayne Bronco youth baseball teams Monday evening.

From the Summer Sports Complex, the Wayne Whites played host to the Oakland Cubs. Oakland held a 6-3 lead entering the bottom of the fifth before Wayne recorded all eight of their hits and added nine runs to win 12-6. The Wayne White Broncos are now 7-0 on the season.

Zach McManigal paced the offense with a pair of hits and three runs scored.

The Wayne Blue Broncos took to the road at Pierce and won 14-0, thanks to an eight-run fourth inning. Wayne improves to 6-1 on the season.

Wayne produced 10 hits while as Sam Junck, Caden Weise, Brayden Navarro – Bell and Kaden Keller all drove in run during the fourth inning. Gavin Redden started off the scoring with a two RBI double in the first inning.

Two pitchers combined to shutout Pierce being Kaleb Moormeier securing the win in three innings allowing one hit while striking out five batters. Kaden Keller worked the final two innings striking out four batters.

The Wayne White Broncos will next host Tekamah-Herman Purple while the Blues will visit Lyons at 7:45 p.m. for both games on Thursday, June 14.
