Week Night High School Basketball Heard On 104.9 FM

WAKEFIELD – The Wakefield/Allen girls and Wakefield boys basketball teams will open a five-game home stretch in the month of December.

Starting on Tuesday, December 4, the Trojans will entertain Hartington-Newcastle. The JV games will start at 4:15 p.m. with varsity girls action to start around 6:15 p.m. and the boys to follow.

Wakefield/Allen sits 0-1 following a 68-44 road loss at Pender last Thursday. HNS also suffered a loss last Thursday hosting Ponca (49-42).

The Friday, November 30 road game with Emerson-Hubbard has been cancelled for the Hartington-Newcastle girls.

A year ago, Hartington-Newcastle defeated Wakefield (61-37) on December 5 and then won against Allen (53-18) on December 12.

For the boy’s, Wakefield won back-to-back games last Thursday at Pender (56-50 in OT) and at Allen (56-35) on Friday to enter at 2-0. The Wildcats, are 0-1 falling to Ponca (60-40) before having a game with Emerson-Hubbard rescheduled for Monday, January 7.

Last season, Wakefield won 52-32 at Hartington-Newcastle on December 5.
