WAYNE – The halfway point of the regular season is here as the Wayne State College women and men compete against Upper Iowa in week four of the shortened league schedule.
The Wildcat men will close out a four-game home stretch with the Peacocks at 6:30 p.m. tonight and 2:30 p.m. Saturday from Rice Auditorium while the Wayne State women will continue on the road with back-to-back games in Fayette, Iowa. The WSC women will play at 6 p.m. this evening and 2 p.m. tomorrow.
The Wildcat men are 3-3 overall and 3-1 in the NSIC South Division following a split last weekend against Minnesota State (W 85-68, L 80-77) while the Peacocks come to Wayne with records of 2-4 overall and 0-2 in the NSIC South. Upper Iowa lost a pair of two-point contests at home last weekend to Winona State (81-79 and 92-90). Last season, each team won on their home floor with WSC winning 88-69 followed by an 80-73 UIU win in Fayette, Iowa one month later.

From Dorman Gymnasium, the Wayne State College women are 2-4 overall and 1-3 in the NSIC South Division following a split of games last weekend at Minnesota State (W 84-79, L 84-71). Upper Iowa is 1-5 and 0-4 in divisional play after dropping South Division games at Southwest Minnesota State (L 70-47, L 68-37). Last season, WSC won both matchups against the Peacocks posting an 86-59 win in Wayne (December 6) and a 78-55 victory in Fayette on January 11.
