Wayne Youth Baseball Teams Outscore Schuyler Teams 33-4

WAYNE/SCHUYLER – After 10 days without competition, three of the four youth baseball teams for Wayne were in action Thursday night.

The Wayne White didgets and broncos hosted Schuyler Green from the Summer Sports Complex while the Blue didgets visited Schuyler Red. The Blue broncos had a bye.

For the White didgets, Wayne defeated Schuler Green 9-0 to improve to 2-0.

Mason Heikes, Adrian Contreras and Jahiem Hamik all doubled.

Jaxson Kneifl picked up the win in four innings striking out 12 batters as Mason Heikes closed out the game.

 

In the White broncos game, Wayne defeated Schuyler Green 10-3 to improve to 1-1.

Kaleb Moormeier doubled twice and drove in a run while Devin Anderson singled and doubled. Gavin Anderson singled and drove in two runs; Drew Miller singled; Zander Liston accounted for three RBI as Brayden Navarro-Bell also doubled.

Liston picked up the win in five innings allowing two unearned runs off two hits while striking out 10 batters and walking three. Calvin Ankeny worked the final inning allowing one run off one hit while striking out one batter.

 

Moving to the road for the Blue didgets, Wayne defeated Schuyler Red 14-1 to now sit 2-0.

William Patefield, Chase Nelson and Chase Baldwin all produced two hits each.

Dylan Jensen and William Patefield combined for the no-hitter striking out 13 batters.

Youth baseball will next be in action for Wayne on Monday, June 3 where the White didgets and broncos will visit the Homer Hawks at 6/7:45 p.m. and the Blue didgets and broncos will host Howells/Dodge at 6/7:45 p.m.
