Wayne Wrestling Results From Lakeview Invite, Three Individual Champions Crowned

COLUMBUS – Both of the Wayne High girls and boys wrestling teams traveled to Columbus for their first tournament of the season.

Following a road triangular on Thursday, WHS competed in the Lakeview Invite at Columbus Lakeview High School on Friday. A total of seven girls teams and 13 boys teams were in action.

The Wayne High girls wrestlers placed third as a team with 61 points while the Blue Devil boys took sixth with 82 points.

Individual champions came from Jaycee Bruns (125) and Nyla Bolles (130) for the Wayne girls while Ashton Munsell (145) for the boys took first.

In the girls wrestling division, Aurora edged the host Columbus Lakeview, 97-96.

Other Blue Devil girls medalists saw Raegan (105) and Liberty Titiml (155) both place runner-up; third place results came from Serenity Heil-Ellis (135), Cici Stashkiw-Risor (140) and Kadence Rees (155); Hannah Burris (120) took fourth and Macy Wilson (115) finished fifth.

 

During the boys division, Raymond Central picked up the team title with 193 points while the host Lakeview placed runner-up with 177 points.

Other Blue Devil boys medalists came from Garrett Schultz (120) and Francisco Jinez De La Rosa (160) both finished second place; Lakin Stanse (195) and Tyrian Chen Lo (285) both placed third; Alex Frank (132) took fourth as Eli Barner (160) added a sixth place result.

The Wayne High wrestlers will next host Norfolk Catholic on Thursday, December 8 for a dual meet starting at 6:30 p.m.
