WISNER – For the second Sunday in January youth in pre-kindergarten through eighth grade participating in club wrestling in Wayne competed on the mat.
From Battle Creek Public Schools, the Wayne Wrestling Club sent 57 wrestlers to the Battle Creek Brave Elite Youth Classic.
As a team, Wayne finished third with 342 points.

Battle Creek Brave Elite won their second straight invite this time with 479 points followed by Boone Central in second with 408 points.
Individual champions for the Wayne Wrestling Club were Lakin Stange (7th – 8th 185-195); Samuel Leseberg (5th – 6th 115-126); Mason Nelson (3rd – 4th 59-61); Weston Nelson (1st – 2nd 53-54); Isaac McPhillips (1st – 2nd 62-63); Bentlee Nelson (PreK – K 50) and Beckett Miller (PreK – K 55-71).
Runner-up finishes came from Taven Ocampo (7th – 8th 134-140); Adrian Zarate (1st – 2nd 48-51); Ayden Luschen (1st – 2nd 56-58); Jack Baxendale (1st – 2nd 57-58); Aden Greve (1st – 2nd 62-66); Barrett Hanson (1st – 2nd 70-73); Wyatt Dunklau (1st – 2nd 106-114); Kaiser Woehler (PreK – K 44-45); Kamdyn Rager (PreK – K 44-46); Eli Biggerstaff (PreK – K 52-56) and Kimbree Rees (1st – 2nd Girls 71-84).
