Wayne White’s Split Home Series With Logan View Gold, Wayne Blue’s Split At Wakefield

WAYNE/WAKEFIELD – Despite early morning showers on Monday, the Wayne White and Blue Didget and Bronco youth baseball teams were able to return to league play.

From the Summer Sports Complex, Wayne White hosted Logan View Gold while the Wayne Blues visited Wakefield in Tri County League play.

The Wayne White Broncos lost 3-1 to Logan View Gold to now sit 3-3 on the season, the Wayne White Didgets picked up a 10-5 victory to improve to 2-4; the Wayne Blue Broncos secured a 14-9 road victory over Wakefield to improve to 4-1 as the Wayne Blue Didgets dropped a 2-1 game at Wakefield falling to 4-2.

In the Wayne White Broncos 3-1 loss, Blake Smith singled twice and drove in a run while Aiden Petersen singled and scored.

Petersen (84 pitches) suffered the loss in five innings allowing three runs (two earned) off five hits while striking out seven batters and walking two. Smith (20) worked one inning striking out two batters and walking one.

During the Wayne White Didgets 10-5 victory, Bradley Hanson singled twice, drove in a run and scored; Daniel Jiminez doubled, drove in a run and scored while Hudson Kramer doubled and scored.

Isaiah Zarate and Dreu Jensen both singled and drove in two runs; Benjamin Patefield singled, drove in a run and scored twice; Mason Jech accounted a RBI and two runs scored as Maxon Judd, Mason Nelson and Ryker Heithold all scored.

Combining for the win in the pitching department was Zarate (58 pitches) who worked an inning and two-thirds allowing three runs (two earned) off two hits while striking out and walking four batters each; Patefield (49) pitched two and a third allowing two runs (one earned) off one hit while striking out seven batters and walking three as Nelson came in for an inning striking out three batters and walking two.

From the Wayne Blue Broncos 14-9 win, Jackson McMenamin singled twice, tripled, drove in four runs and scored three times while Spencer Moormeier doubled, drove in two runs and scored twice.

Liam Rockhill singled and drove in two runs; Easton Gamble singled and drove in a run; Colston Starzl, Kash Haase, Easton Endicott and Parker Zara all scored twice as Shawn Thompson scored once.

Camden Hall (48 pitches) picked up the win in two innings allowing three runs (two earned) off three hits while striking out and walking two batters each. Zara (46) worked an inning and two-thirds allowing four runs (three earned) off two hits while striking out one batter and walking four as Haase (28) pitched an inning and a third allowing two runs (one earned) off two hits while striking out two batters and walking one.

In the Wayne Blue Didgets 2-1 loss, Sy Chase singled twice and scored while Merrick Miller singled and drove in a run. Brayden Wehrer and Blake Heithold both singled.

Wehrer (111 pitches) suffered the loss in five innings allowing two earned runs off three hits while striking out 13 batters and walking three.

The Wayne White Didgets will next host Pierce White at 6 p.m.; the Wayne White Broncos will host Stanton Orange at 7:45 p.m. while the Wayne Blue Didgets and Broncos will visit Howells-Dodge at 6/7:45 p.m. in Dodge all on Thursday, June 9.

 

The Wayne White Broncos (2-2) had their Sunday road game at Schuyler rescheduled for this evening starting at 7 p.m. and will also visit Tilden at 7 p.m. on Wednesday. The Wayne Blue Broncos (4-0) haven’t posted a rescheduled date for their postponed home game with Logan View from Sunday and are next scheduled to host Emerson on Wednesday at 7 p.m.
