Wayne Whites Split At Pender Red, Didgets Remained Undefeated

PENDER – The Wayne white didget and bronco youth baseball teams took to the road Monday night.

Wayne visited Pender red.

In the didgets game, Wayne won 9-1 to improve to 9-0 in tri-county league play.

Brody Munter recorded a pair of singles, two RBI and two runs scored while Jaxson Kneifl added a single, double, three RBI and a run scored for Wayne. Mason Heikes recorded a triple, RBI and two runs scored as James Birkel, Blake Smith and Jenner Dorey all singled and scored. Adrian Contreras accounted for a RBI and run scored and Callen Gamble accounted for a RBI.

Brody Munter picked up the win in an inning allowing one run while striking out two batters. Mason Heikes worked the next two innings allowing one hit while striking out three batters as Jaxson Kneifl closed out the final two innings facing seven batters, striking out six and walking one.

 

From the broncos contest, Pender scored five runs late in the game to hold off Wayne 6-4. The Wayne white broncos are now 6-3 on the season.

Gavin Anderson singled twice and drove in a run while Devin Anderson singled twice for Wayne. Calvin Ankeny singled as Alex Rodriquez accounted for a RBI.

Rodriquez suffered the loss in an inning allowing three runs while striking out two batters and walking one. Devin Anderson started the opening four innings allowing three runs (two earned) off two hits while striking out 11 batters and walking one.

The Wayne white broncos will play their rescheduled game Tuesday night in Pierce and the didgets will visit Pierce on Wednesday, June 26 at 5 p.m. The didgets will then close out their regular season hosting Schuyler Red on Thursday, June 27 at 6 p.m. The Wayne white broncos will end their regular season visiting Oakland-Craig Sluggers orange at 7 p.m. in Oakland Monday.
