Wayne Whites Pick Up Home Wins, Wayne Blues Suffer Road Losses

WAYNE/DODGE – Tri County League play continued for four youth baseball programs on Thursday.

From the Summer Sports Complex, the Wayne White Didgets hosted Pierce White and the Wayne White Broncos welcomed in Stanton Orange while both the Wayne Blue Didgets and Broncos were in Dodge facing Howells-Dodge.

The Wayne White Didgets held on for a 5-4 victory over Pierce White improving to 3-4; the Wayne White Broncos secured a 12-2 win over Stanton Orange to now sit 4-3; the Wayne Blue Didgets suffered a 2-1 loss to Howells-Dodge falling to 4-3 as the Wayne Blue Broncos dropped a 10-5 decision to Howells-Dodge to now sit 4-2.

In the Wayne White Didgets game, Isaiah Zarate doubled, tripled, drove in a run and scored; Benjamin Patefield singled, doubled, drove in two runs and scored while Mason Jech doubled.

Daniel Jiminez singled and drove in a run, Mason Judd accounted for a RBI as single runs came from Mason Nelson, Brayden McManigal and Ryker Heithold.

Patefield (28 pitches) picked up the win in two scoreless innings not allowing a hit while striking out five batters and walking one. Dreu Jensen (86) started the opening three innings allowing four runs (three earned) off two hits while striking out nine batters and walking six.

During the Wayne White Broncos outing, Karter Hayes singled, doubled, drove in a run and scored twice while Grant Reeg doubled, drove in two runs and scored.

Aiden Petersen singled twice, drove in a run and scored; Maddox Heithold singled twice and scored; Evan Greeve singled, drove in two runs and scored; Blake Smith singled, drove in a run and scored twice; Miles Tiedtke singled, drove in a run and scored; Sam Leseberg and Will Patefield both singled and scored; Tate Holz accounted for a RBI as Trecyn Ocampo scored.

Greeve (97 pitches) picked up the complete game win in five innings allowing two runs (one earned) off two hits while striking out eight batters and walking six.

White Broncos:

From the five inning, one-run loss for the Wayne Blue Didgets, Merrick Miller singled and tripled, Harley Poland doubled while Sy Chase and Brayden Wehrer both singled.

Miller suffered the loss allowing two runs.

 

In the Wayne Blue Broncos game, Jackson McMenamin doubled, drove in two runs and scored while Colston Starzl singled and scored.

Spencer Moormeier accounted for a RBI as single runs came from Kash Haase, Easton Endicott and Cameron Ellyson.

Starzl (80 pitches) suffered the loss in three innings allowing five runs (one earned) off three hits while striking out four batters and walking five. Easton Gamble (46) worked the final two innings allowing five runs (four earned) off six hits while striking out three batters.

Next Tri County League games for the Wayne White Didgets will be hosting the West Point Patriots at 6, the Wayne White Broncos will welcome in North Bend Black at 7:45 p.m. while the Wayne Blue Didgets will visit Pierce White at 6 p.m. and the Wayne Blue Broncos will face the Stanton Orange at 7:45 p.m. in Pierce. All of these games will be on Monday, June 13.
